The Business of Art with Dorothy Bocian

Following refreshments at 5:30 p.m., Ms. Bocian will speak at 6:00 p.m. about what it takes to “make it” as a successful artist. After her presentation, Dorothy will answer questions from artists in the audience about career challenges they are facing.
Dorothy Bocian has worked with artists as an Arts Business Consultant since 1990. She’ll discuss topics that are essential to the success of an artist’s business and career including: setting up your business, professionalism, image/identity, portfolio, gallery contacts, publicity and marketing, and collaborations and collectives.
This forum is FREE and open to the public. Please come to meet, network with and engage in this lively discussion with artists and friends!
Age-less Gentle Yoga
with Caryl Sickul
In collaboration with Sakonnet Bay Manor, the Sakonnet Arts Network is pleased to offer Age-less Gentle Yoga for seniors in the Sakonnet area. Caryl Sickul,movement specialist and yoga instructor, will lead the 6-week series of classes that will be held in the Manor’s Fitness Center on Wednesday afternoons from 2:30-3:15 p.m. beginning on January 21. Instruction will be tailored to the abilities of individual participants who will be seated or standing during the class. Meditative breathing exercises and fluid movements will enhance relaxation, improve flexibility and balance, and energize participants.
The cost of the 6-week class is $40 (or $8 per class). Class size will be limited to 15.
